Why Use an Architect?

Architects are not typically engaged solely for ‘drawing services’: by engaging an Architect you can expect advice on all aspects of a project, from spatial design, to appropriate materials selection, regulations advice through to development strategy, and ultimately navigating the reality of construction.

1.

The title ‘architect’ is protected by law (Architects Act 1997), only those who have undergone extensive training can use it. Some companies refer to themselves as
‘architectural’ designers or similar: this is not the same as ‘architect’.

2.

An architect must be registered with the Architects Registration Board (ARB) to practice. Visit www.arb.org.uk to check if an individual is registered.

3.

Registered architects follow the ARB’s 12 Codes of Conduct. These codes guarantee a high level of professional service, for your peace of mind.
